ewelthorpe - I was wondering when I'd hear from you again...

This post wasn't aimed at young guys at all. People who can afford to fly to Palm Springs for a weekend and pay for a hotel room are going to have jobs.

If they're old enough to support themselves, they're old enough to make the decision about taking loads.

In general though - this site is for adults. Why are you blaming me if parents and teachers didn't do their job and teach the kids to think for themselves?

We can't coddle people forever. There's a point at which they need to grow up. If that means making their own mistakes and learning to live with the consequences, then so be it. I know that's how my life has gone...

In many ways I was lucky as a kid, but at the same time I went through plenty of shit to get where I am today. Life's not easy - especially for us fags who often don't have the same support system straight people do. But the point is, you gotta take care of yourself. Period.

The common theme I've heard from a lot of poz guys is that becoming poz got them to wake up and take control of their lives. They wish they weren't poz, but they've also turned their life around partly because they became poz.

So go yell at parents and teachers... We're all adults here.

That said, I do think poz guys need to speak up and talk about what their lives are like so the guys who are not caring about their HIV status can make more informed decisions. I'm not poz, that's not a perspective I can give.

This blog is about my sex life, the decisions I make, where my head's at, and what I think is hot. Perhaps if you shared a bit more about your life instead of just attacking and judging, your opinions would be better received.

The one consistent comment I have heard from guys with HIV, especially young guys with HIV, is they didn't realize what it truly meant or what was involved to be HIV-positive. And they didn't mean that in it meant good things.

Do you really feel no sense of responsibility to those young and naive enough to "take loads?" Don't you see what you do as enabling guys who might be too naive to realize what they are doing? Wouldn't it be OK to, at least once, be the one to make a guy think about the risk and reality?

Read this: http://slog.thestranger.com/2008/03/bareback_porn_child_porn
